Fun, but SO Not Worth It

A friend and I hung out last night, and thoroughly enjoyed all but about 4 shots of a liter bottle of Captain Morgan. We drank it with Dr. Pepper...around 3, I had to get off the bed to go pee (we were watching Family Guy up 'til then), and I now know why they have the line tests. I couldn't, for the life of me, walk straight!

The hangover this morning was not fun at all. SO not doing that again.

A few hours before drinking, I hiked to Hungarian Falls with a bunch of friends, and THAT was worth it.

I'm gonna collapse now.

It's been a while, huh? So, in regards to my last post, my parents found out through a friend who accidentally outed me to them...and they're pretty cool with it.

Alright, so, here's today:

Woke up this morning feeling kinda good...cramps are mildly annoying, but not enough to make me miss Tae Kwon Do...again. So, I hauled my ass out of bed and to TKD. I dropped off my prescription for Aranelle before class, which worked well in the end. Class was fun, seeing as my partner and I are pretty easy going though I'm going to have one hell of a bruise on my wrist from where he accidentally hit me. Ah well, c'est la vie.

Anyway, after TKD, I went down for lunch with a few friends, and we had a little conversation about my new apartment, which I signed for yesterday. I am no longer nervous about this next year, since I'll be able to pay for the apartment over the summer with no problem. Just gotta buy generic for a while is all. Good thing I know how to cook cheap meals.

$235 a month for the two bedroom, one bath place, but that's really good! Very happy about that. However, I'll have to buy a mattress and bedframe, but other than that, we're good. I should buy bedsheets, too >.<

So, I'm sitting in front of my computer, listening to Finger Eleven's Paralyzer, which is an awesome song. Lyrics make no sense, but it's got a good arrangement. I have a messy room right now, but I'll clean it after this. My sheets are in the laundry, I have clothes strewn all over the floor (from laziness, not hasty stripping, you pervs), and my desk is a complete and utter mess.

And the song now is Sweet Dreams by Eurythmics. So, on that note, have a good day, and I'll post later tonight.

College Stuff

So, finally got to college :)

Right now, I'm on my break (got another half an hour before I have to go) between events. The next thing is sports related, so I'll probably be bored. Considering how much free time I'll have on
Friday, I figured I'd wait until then to climb up the hill to the SDC to get my skates sharpened. My Orientation Team Leader (OTL) said it only takes about 5 minutes to get done once you grab someone's attention.

Sadly, I did laundry, and my cash flow is somewhat limited, so I'm trying to budget my money as much as possible. Fortunately, it was only $1.50 to do all of my laundry, and I probably will do the same again next week. I'm still waiting for my debit card to arrive before I freak out. And, trust me, I'm getting there.

And nobody told me how costly stamps were. In order to get enough stamps for all of my envelopes (I won't be doing that until I need them, though), I'd be spending $16.80

So, in all, college life so far has made me realize two things: quarters are precious, and money is a lovely, wonderful thing.

Oh, and walking up 5-6 flights of stairs each day several times is HELL.

Completely cleaned out my blog...realized it was kind of silly before, and I don't want it to be.

Let's see...News on Schooling the Organization: I am completely re-writing it, so it will no longer be forgotten, or crappy. With the new one, the writing has improved, and the pairings are more realistic. Plus, the storyline is more able to be played with now, since it won't have anything to do with the actual KH universe. I realize that this will make some of my watcher not read it anymore, but that's their decision, not mine.

Also, I am officially graduated from High School, and will be going to Michigan Tech (as I stated a long time ago), though I wasn't positive about going there until this past October.

That's about it for right now.

"The S.S Edmund Fitzgerald left Superior, Wisconsin on the afternoon of November 9, 1975 under Captain Ernest M. McSorley. She was en route to a steel mill on Zug Island (near Detroit, Michigan) with a cargo full of taconite. She met up with the Arthur M. Anderson, a freighter going to Gary, Indiana, and, being the faster ship, took the lead.

Crossing Lake Superior at about 13 knots, the boats encountered a massive winter storm, reporting winds in excess of 50 knots and waves as high as 35 feet (10 m). Because of the storm,the Soo Locks were closed. The freighters altered their courses northward, seeking shelter along the Canadian coast. Later, they would cross to Whitefish Bay and approach the Sault Ste. Marie locks.

On the afternoon of November 10 Fitzgerald reported a minor list developing and top-side damage including the loss of radar, but did not indicate a serious problem. She slowed to come within range of receiving Anderson's radar data and for a time Anderson guided the Fitzgerald toward the relative safety of Whitefish Bay. The last communication from the boat came at approximately 19:10 (7:10 PM), when Anderson notified Fitzgerald of being hit by rouge waves or perhaps seiche waves large enough to be caught on radar, that were heading Fitzgerald's way and asked how she was doing. McSorley reported, "We are holding our own." A few minutes later, she suddenly sank – no distress signal was received. A short ten minutes later Anderson could neither raise Fitzgerald nor detect her on radar At 20:32, Anderson informed the U.S. Coast Guard of their concern for the boat."

The SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank, taking all 29 crew with her.

November 10, 1975, the men who diligently served on this vessel lost their lives. 29 families lost their husbands, fathers, and brothers to the vast Superior waters.

Now, 32 years later, we remember. We'll remember their smiles and their hearts. We'll always remember.

May all 29 men continue to rest in peace.
